Andrew sat down recently with Enlit Asia’s Melissa Fitzgerald to discuss the new normal facing the financing of the huge investment necessary in the power sector across the region.
He has been a member of the advisory board to Enlit Asia (previously PowerGen Asia) since 2009 and Enlit’s upcoming conference is currently scheduled for 28 – 30 September at the Indonesia Convention and Exhibition centre in BSD City, Jakarta.
Enlit’s focus is traditionally on the engineering aspects of power generation but all investment – in renewables, transmission and distribution, even coal – ultimately needs to be financed. Andrew’s view was that there is still plenty of money available for the right risk profiles. Host governments need to still structure prospects appropriately including the little – discussed issue of government support. When is this needed? How should it be best structured / allocated / recycled? And more.
